Adjoining the hotel, at the centre of the Saint-Lazare priory’s peaceful haven, is Fontevraud Le Restaurant, whose kitchen is headed up by young chef and Bocuse d’or prizewinner 2013, Thibaut Ruggeri. In refined, sober surroundings, our diners are offered a creative, contemporary and sensory cuisine. Food that represents French excellence, is respectful of the history of Fontevraud Royal Abbey, and highlights local produce: exquisite, unique, unembellished.

The gastronomic opportunities at Fontevraud Royal Abbey are many: on the terrace in front of the Orangerie bar for a light snack, or at La Brasserie for a meal complemented by fine local wines. A special cuvée is selected each year from among the award-winning wines of Saumur, which is served here in bottles decorated by the artists in residence at Fontevraud Royal Abbey. Whether it be La Brasserie or Fontevraud Le Restaurant, the aim is the same: delicious, beautiful food, that references traditions but is resolutely contemporary.
