AN INTERNATIONAL STANDARD / THE ANIMATED FILM RESIDENCY
Since it was established in 2007, our residency for writing animated film has acquired international recognition. Young filmmakers in residence at Fontevraud Royal Abbey are able to benefit from a framework that enables them to write their films. During their residency they can immerse themselves in their work without worrying about material constraints, while benefiting from a calm atmosphere, ideal for developing their imagination and creativity and regularly resulting in successes, the likes of Luminaris by Juan Pablo Zaramella (2011), the winner of more than 300 prizes all over the world.
MULTIDISCIPLINARY / MUSIC AND CONTEMPORARY ART
Animated film is not Fontevraud Royal Abbey’s only speciality in terms of artists’ residencies. Musicians are also welcomed here, and we have a packed programme of concerts of all types. [ ] Music residencies are the moment for an artist to rehearse, prepare for a concert, or make a recording, in a place that can offer them a whole variety of exceptional acoustic conditions. Finally, the Ackerman Fontevraud residency for contemporary art offers material support to artists to create a monumental work in situ.
